It is important to understand that surgical treatment
is considered only when other methods have not been successful. The
surgery itself is only a tool to jump-start your body losing weight
- complying with diet, exercise and behavior modifications will determine
your ultimate success. Thus, it is important that
our patients make a long term commitment to their health and the program.
Surgery should not be considered until
you and your doctor have evaluated all other options. As
with all surgeries, there are risks associated
with this procedure. Your doctor will determine if you are an appropriate
surgical candidate.
